Vivo T1 Pro Review: Design & Build

The Vivo T1 Pro offers a choice between two striking color options: Turbo Black and Turbo Cyan. I was fortunate to receive the Turbo Cyan variant, which really caught my eye. Its vibrant cyan hue is incredibly bold and attention-grabbing, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate bright and lively colors. However, it’s worth noting that this boldness might be a bit overwhelming for individuals who prefer more subtle shades.

In terms of build, both the frame and the rear panel of the phone are constructed from durable plastic. While it lacks an official IP rating for water and dust resistance, Vivo has included a thoughtful addition—a silicone seal on the SIM tray. This seal effectively prevents water from seeping into the phone, providing a degree of protection against unexpected spills or rain.

When it comes to button placement, the Vivo T1 Pro gets it right. The volume rockers and the lock button are conveniently situated on the right side of the phone, ensuring easy and comfortable access. This thoughtful design enhances the overall user experience.

In summary, the Vivo T1 Pro is available in two bold color choices, with the Turbo Cyan variant being particularly eye-catching. While it lacks an official IP rating, the added silicone seal on the SIM tray provides some water protection. The well-placed buttons on the right side of the phone further enhance its user-friendliness. Whether you’re a fan of vibrant colors or appreciate practical design elements, the Vivo T1 Pro has something to offer.

Vivo T1 Pro Review: Display

The T1 Pro’s display looks promising, at least on paper. It boasts a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen that strikes a good balance between size and grip, ensuring a comfortable hold. However, when it comes to the display’s performance, there’s a bit of a letdown with its 90Hz refresh rate. It falls short in delivering that snappy, fluid feel when scrolling through your social media feed.

On the bright side, the display is HDR10+ certified, making it a treat for streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. Plus, it shines when it comes to outdoor visibility, as you can easily read the content even in direct sunlight.

In summary, the T1 Pro’s display has its strengths and weaknesses, but it definitely holds its own when it comes to streaming and outdoor use.

Vivo T1 Pro Review: Performance

The Vivo T1 Pro offers a fantastic performance beneath its glitzy exterior. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset and comes in two RAM and storage configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with the same storage. Similar to other recent Vivo smartphones, the T1 Pro can utilize part of its UFS 2.2 storage as ‘Virtual RAM.’ I received the higher-tier variant with 8GB of RAM.

For user interaction, the device runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 12, which is built on Android 12. It does come with a bit of bloatware, but the good news is that you can remove most of it. This is particularly handy as notifications from some of these pre-installed apps can be quite bothersome.

All together the tried and tested performance of  Snapdragon 778G SoC  and 8GB RAM gives out a fabulous performance.

Vivo T1 Pro Review: Camera

The T1 Pro’s camera setup boasts a powerful 64-megapixel primary shooter, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 2-megapixel macro camera. While the ultrawide offers a wide 112-degree field of view, the macro camera seems more for camera count than functionality.

One standout feature is the T1 Pro’s exceptional image processing. However, it’s worth noting that the viewfinder preview may differ from the final output, which could challenge some users seeking predictability in their photos. On the plus side, the camera app is swift, and interacting with its elements is a breeze, with minimal shutter lag during daylight.

There are some considerations with the T1 Pro’s camera. The auto high dynamic range can sometimes be overpowering, impacting photo quality. The ultrawide camera is great for wide shots but lacks detail when zoomed in.

In low-light conditions, turning off night mode is advisable for better night shots and portraits, as night mode tends to introduce excessive noise and brightness. Surprisingly, even the front-facing camera manages decent nighttime selfies.

Vivo T1 Pro: Verdict

The Vivo T1 Pro impresses with its performance and sleek design. However, the 8-megapixel ultrawide camera falls short. It comes with bloatware and annoying app notifications. Faster charging would be great, but thermal stability matters most to me.
